soccer at night

Ya know the best part about summer soccer is that I do not have to be the one to put the kids to bed.. who knew there were so many ways to stay up just a little later.. read me a story.. I have to go potty, I need my covers, sing me a song.. mommy come back I have a question...

So when I come home from playing soccer with the "girls" I get to go into their rooms and look at their smiling faces and I remember why I wanted to be a mom in the first place.. I know that God made sure little ones are so cute in their sleep so that mom's and dad's can refresh and get a new start on the next day.

Speaking of the next day.. what is the deal with all day kindergarten? Isn't 5 years old a bit young to be away from mommy and or daddy all day long? okay, maybe if they are in day care it is no big deal to some parents, but I a stay at home, working at home, not getting paid to be at home mom and personally I am not sure if either of them or I will be ready for them to be gone from me that long.. wonder if I can have a web cam installed in the class room so I can watch them....

Hey, that is not too bad of a plan. They have one in the gym so while I am working out I can look over at the monitor and make sure they are all right, why shouldn't I be able to do the same while they are at school.. Just think of the positive of all this....

Mommy is watching you. We would know if they are acting up in class or if the teacher really does have it out for them. We could tell if Johnny really is just a mean little boy or if he has a crush on you. Plus, we would know if you actually ate the lunch we slaved over for you or traded it for the oreo cookies....

Just a thought

Good night

Potty training with Twins.. who would have thought

It would be so hard!!! Okay, so maybe that is an odd statement cause doing anything at the same time can be difficult.. walking and chewing gum.. driving and talking on the phone... potty training twins!! UGH.

So Eowyn, my daughter.. is now at the point where she will say to me.. "Mommy, I want to go poopy and pee pee on the potty' But what she really means is Mommy, I peed in my diaper and I want you to take it off, let me sit on the potty, and read me a story.. Oh yes that is what potty training has become.. A chance for her to have a story read.. let me change that.. a chance for her to have story, after story, after story read to her..... At least she is telling me when it is time to change her diaper.. so I guess that is a step in the right direction.

Now Emerson, my son, is a different story..... He is playing happily and suddenly he makes grunting noises, or his face turns red.. or both and we ask.. Emerson, do you have to go poopy on the potty.. to which the response is one of the following.

1. no, i don't think so
2. no, there's no poopy in there
3. Noooooooooooo

Or no words at all and he just runs away giggling..
Somedays I feel as if my twins will be getting ready to go off to college and I will be telling them that they really should learn to go poopy and pee pee on the potty before they leave... at least I have the knowledge in the back of my head that they will eventually learn to go on the potty.. I was just hoping for sooner rather than later...
I was going to try the 3 days 3 hundred dollar method... keep then naked for 3 days and then spend 3 hundred to get the carpets cleaned, but I just don't have the three hundred.. so what's a mother to do.. anyone else want to have a go at it?
Don't worry, I am sure that sooner or later I will be writing about the joys of traveling with potty trained twins and having to stop at EVERY rest stop on the way to the destination.. oh wait.. Virginia is closing rest stops.. guess I will have to teach them the art of peeing in the woods....

Mother of Twins on a diet

So you might think that being the mother of twins (boy/girl) in case you wanted to know, is hard. Honestly it is not all that bad, it is getting rid of the weight I put on that is the real trial. How much? Would you believe 130 lbs!!!
I know, I know.. but my doctor said.. "eat, I want those babies to be a healthy weight" and she did get what she asked for 6 lbs 10 oz and 5 bs 2 oz.. but now.. as they are approaching 2 1/2 years of age.. I am still hanging onto 30 lbs of unwanted and let's face it unneeded baby weight...
Well, what have I tried, you ask? To me it seems like everything and nothing worked.

First, I did breast feed.. BOTH OF THEM.. for just over a year and I can tell you honestly that although I knew it was the best thing for them, I was also hoping that it would help melt the weight right off of me... no such luck.

Then, I tried watching what I ate and exercising more. Umm, not such an easy thing when you are trying to take care of two babies, work part-time, take care of the house.. when I was finally able to find a minute all I really wanted to do was sleep!

Next step, talk to my doctor! YES!! I got the magic pill.. I was supposed to feel less hungry, eat less and lose some weight.. oh yes, but I could also develop a heart condition..hmm, maybe not the best choice

Okay, so back on my own again. Let's try Alli....well... it did work a little.. but let me tell you if you eat too much fat at a meal and that could be just one piece of cheese too many..you pay for it later. Honestly it was kind of cool the orange ring it left in the toilet, but that is another story.

Now, I am trying Physicans Weight loss. Since the beginning of July I have lost 7 lbs.. but learned this week (I haven't lost any weight) there is no room for messing up or not drinking enough water.. and they want you to drink alot of water...hold on gotta pee... see that is the problem with tons of water.. tons of potty trips.
Anyway.. wish me luck and I will keep you posted on this part of the journey.. As well as other aspects of raising twins...

Next Blog.. Potty Training.. who would have guessed the toliet was possesed.
